Suspect wearing surgical mask wanted in Beaumont gas station robbery on Eastex Freeway

The suspect was wearing a surgical mask and gloves when he came in with a handgun and demanded cash and told the clerk, "no funny business."

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police are looking for a suspect in a gas station robbery near Eastex Freeway.

The robbery happened at 5:27 p.m. Saturday, April 25 in the 2800 block of Eastex Freeway, Beaumont Police Sgt. Cody Guedry said in a news release. 

Investigators said the suspect came into the Valero gas station with a handgun and demanded the cash register, Guedry said. "No funny business," the suspect allegedly told the clerk, who handed him the money. 

The suspect was last seen headed north on 16th Street behind the store. 

Beaumont Police detectives are working to identify the suspect. He was described as being a black man about 6 ft. 1 in. tall in his 30s, wearing a long-sleeve red shirt, black and gray pants, black shoes, a black hat, a light blue surgical mask and gloves.
