Man shot while visiting Port Arthur apartment complex by suspects demanding money

The 37-year-old man was shot in the abdomen Friday night before driving himself to a gas station to call police

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — *Editor's Note: The above video is from October 4, 2019.  

Investigators say a 37-year-old man was shot in the abdomen on Friday night at Louis Manor Apartments after struggling with two suspects that demanded money from him.

Port Arthur Police were called to the Fuel Depot in the 700 block of West Gulfway Drive just after 11 p.m. Friday about a shooting. 

When officers got to the gas station, the victim told police he had driven himself there. The man said he had struggled with two men while visiting the apartment complex, after they demanded money. During the struggle, one of the suspects shot him. 

He was taken to St. Elizabeth to be treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. 

The shooting is being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Division.

We need the public's help identifying the burglary suspects in this security video. They committed a burglary at a local business on 10/26/19 @ approximately 4:58 AM. One of the suspects is a male black wearing camouflage with a red bandana around his neck.
