PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Port Arthur Police are investigating an aggravated assault involving two men.
Officers said they were dispatched to a stabbing around 9 p.m. Wednesday. The stabbing happened in the 2100 block of Birch Street.
When officers arrived, they saw a man who was stabbed, suffering with serious injuries.
He was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition, police said.
Witnesses at the scene said a man, who knew the victim, approached him during a verbal altercation, according to the release.
Police were advised that the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the victim several times in the upper region of his body.
The suspect later left the scene on foot, police said.
The suspect has not been located, and the incident is still under investigation.
