BEAUMONT, Texas — You needed plenty of patience if you were looking for bottled water around Southeast Texas grocery stores on Wednesday.
"Since everybody's worried about the hurricane coming they're just trying to get prepared," Devante Conner of Beaumont said.

The HEB Plus on Dowlen in Beaumont stayed busy around the clock.
"It's just people scavenging, trying to get whatever they can," shopper Cullen Barrow said.
The store was filled with people trying to grab last minute essentials like food, gas, and drinks in case of a major storm.
"I stocked up on a lot of water and things we could use if the power goes out. Hopefully it doesn't," customer Jasmine Kegler said. "But snacks and things for my kids."

Many locals are Harvey survivors, and plan on getting through this storm too.
"Always prepare for the worst. But we made it through Harvey, I think we can make it through any other storms," Barrow said.
