KIRBYVILLE, Texas — Some schools are announcing closures and schedule adjustments for Monday, January 11 due to wintry weather in Southeast Texas.
Here is a list of schools making changes:
- Agape Christian Academy
Classes are canceled at Agape Christian Academy on Monday, Jan. 11.
- Buna ISD
BISD announced on Facebook school will continue on schedule. All bus routes will continue on Monday morning.
- Burkeville ISD
BISD students will learn virtually on Monday, Jan. 11 according to a Facebook post from the district.
- Chester ISD
Chester ISD will have a late start with classes beginning at 10 a.m. Buses will run two hours late.
- Colmesneil ISD
CISD will delay its start time on Monday. Staff will report to work at 9 a.m. Buses will start running at 9, and students are expected to report for class starting at 10 a.m.
- Corrigan-Camden ISD
School is canceled for Corrigan-Camden ISD on Monday, January 11.
- Evadale ISD
EISD will hold school as planned on Monday. "If there is any changes to this plan they will be communicated tomorrow morning, but conditions are not projected to deteriorate to necessitate the closure or delay," the district said in a Facebook post.
- Jasper ISD
JISD was already planning for a week of virtual learning from Jan. 11-15 due to an uptick in COVID-19 cases in Jasper County. Students will learn at home through this week.
- Kirbyville CISD
Classes are canceled on Monday for KCISD's campuses. School will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 12.
- Newton ISD
Classes are canceled on Monday for Newton ISD campuses.
- Silsbee ISD
Classes in Silsbee will be happening Monday as regularly scheduled.
"Silsbee ISD is OPEN for normal operations today, Monday, January 11, 2021. Silsbee ISD personnel have assessed the road conditions and deemed it safe to have in-person instruction today. Silsbee ISD Online learning will resume as well." SISD said in a Facebook post.
- Spurger ISD
SISD will delay its start time until 10 a.m. on Monday.
- West Hardin County CISD
West Hardin CCISD had been watching the weather but announced just before 4:20 a.m. that classes on Monday will start as normally scheduled.
- Warren ISD
On Monday, WISD will delay its start time by two hours according to a district Facebook post. "This means that if you normally board the bus at 6:45am - tomorrow you will board at 8:45am," the post said. "Breakfast will not be served in the morning so that our cafeteria workers can delay their arrival as well."
- Woodville ISD
WISD will delay its start time until 10 a.m. on Monday. Buses will run two hours later than normal.
