PORT ARTHUR, Texas — The Port Arthur Fire Department responded to a fire at a Port Arthur apartment complex.
Around 11:18 p.m. Friday night firefighters responded to a multi-story fire at the Avery Trace Apartments in Port Arthur, according to Port Arthur Fire Chief Greg Benson. Nederland Fire Department provided mutual aid.
Several apartment units received heavy fire damage and several tenants have been displaced, according to Benson.
One firefighter recieved minor injuries from the fire. He was assessed by EMS at the scene.
The cause of the fire is unknown as of right now but arson is not ruled out as the investigation continues, according to Benson.
Port Arthur firefighter also responded to two separate dumpster fires a little over an hour later.
