PORT ARTHUR, Texas — The Port Arthur Economic Development Corporation (PAEDC) hosted an open house for the Press Building on Monday, October 21.
In 2022, PAEDC completed a $10 million renovation of the historic Port Arthur News Building, located at 549 4th Street.
The building, which covers 47,000 square feet, now houses three anchor tenants along with other additional occupants.
The building's three anchor tenants are Lamar State College Port Arthur, City of Port Arthur's Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the Port Arthur Community Federal Credit Union.
Lamar State College Port Arthur features state-of-the-art teaching kitchens for its culinary arts curriculum.
The EOC us equipped with advanced communication and congregation space for first responders to assist citizens during natural or industrial disasters.
The open house was hosted from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony taking place at from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
