BEAUMONT, Texas — Sheriff elect Chuck Havard, and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to fill out their staff.
Monday afternoon Havard announced through a press release, his intentions to hire Calvin Starkie of Jasper as a Criminal Investigator for the JCSO.
Havard says that Starkie will be assigned to the Rayburn and Brookeland area.
Starkie is currently employed as the DPS Highway Patrol Corporal in Jasper County and will remain in that capacity until the end of the year according to Havard.
"Calvin brings an enormous of amount of professional law-enforcement experience to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. He has over 30 years of law-enforcement experience and has been a city police officer, a deputy sheriff and a Texas DPS Trooper," Havard said in the press release. "Calvin brings years of patrol and investigative experience to our agency. He holds the highest Peace Officer certification that the State of Texas has to offer."
