BEAUMONT, Texas — The GoFundMe page raising money to assist a West brook High School student paralyzed in a wreck on the second Saturday in July is getting closer to its $50,000 goal.
The fundraiser to help Noah Washington, 17, is less than $5000 away from its goal having raised $44,450 as of 11 a.m. Thursday morning, July 25, 2019.
Almost 400 donations have been made to the fundraiser including two anonymous donations for $12,000 and $10,000.
Washington was injured in a July 13, 2019, wreck along with three other West Brook students.
All four are football players at the Beaumont school.

The fundraiser page says Washington was ejected from the car, 'resulting in a broken nose, the loss of one of his ears, blood on his brain, and a break so bad to his spine that it was completely disconnected, leaving him paralyzed from the chest down.'
The fundraiser was set up to help with medical expenses for Washington who was air-lifted to a Houston hospital, where he had extensive surgery, “involving screws being placed in to hold his spine together, as well as his ear being sewn back on,” according to the fundraiser page.
Raybren Morris, 17, of Beaumont, the driver, Washington and two other passengers were all taken to Beaumont hospitals with serious injuries.
