Bond set at $400K for former Orange County deputy arrested for child sex abuse crimes

Kenneth Wayne Bost officially resigned in July 2024 after working as an Orange County deputy for four years after working as the Rose City Marshal.

ORANGE, Texas — An former Orange County deputy has been indicted, this week, by an Orange County grand jury on child sex abuse charges.

Kenneth Wayne Bost, 53, was indicted Wednesday, August 21, 2024, on a charge of continuous sexual abuse of a young child and indecency with a child, according to an Orange County arrest warrant.

Bost is currently in the Orange County Jail where his bond has been set at $400,000 on both charges after being arrested on August 22, according to jail records.

The Texas Rangers first investigated the case at the request of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Bost officially resigned on July 3, 2024, according to the sheriff's office. He was hired in July 2020 and previously worked as the Rose City Marshal.

Bost was employed with the department for four years. On the day that the complaint was made, Bost turned in a resignation letter stating the he intended to give his two weeks notice and that he had found a job somewhere else. After initial statements were taken from the complainants, his resignation was made effective immediately.

12News previously reached out to the Texas Department of Public Safety for further details on the investigation.

"At the request of the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the Texas Rangers (DPS) are conducting an investigation into the allegations. We would refer additional questions to the Orange County Sheriff's Office or District Attorney's Office," Texas Department of Public Safety Media and Communications Office said in an email.
