BEAUMONT, Texas — A 19-year-old fugitive was captured and taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service after being on the run and hiding for eight months.
Victor Green, of Beaumont, was found and arrested in Humble, Texas on Thursday.
Green has three outstanding Jefferson County warrants which include two for aggravated assault and one for deadly conduct.
He was wanted for his involvement in a brutal group assault at SNS Grocery on Concord Road and a shooting at the Hamlet Apartments on Crow Road, both taking place in October 2023, according to police.
Surveillance video captured the scene at the gas station on 3145 Concord Road as a crowd surrounded the man and beat him.
The victim, a 22-year-old Conroe man, was taken to the hospital in critical condition that night. He was able to speak to police the same day of the incident.
The shooting at the Hamlet apartments, located in the 3700 block of Crow Road, resulted in significant damage to multiple apartment units.
No one was wounded, but a person did receive minor cuts according to Beaumont Police Department Sgt. Thomas Swope.
"Numerous" shell casings were found while detectives were on scene.
Cameron Jayce Smith, 19, was arrested in connection to the apartment shooting on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct/discharging a firearm.
The victim was treated and released from the hospital.
