BEAUMONT, Texas — A teen has been charged with deadly conduct for "shooting blindly" into a crowd at Honey's Drive-In last month.
Corey Germaine Carter, 17, was charged with shooting into a crowd at Honey's Drive-In on October 13, the same night Gregory Carrington was shot and killed at the store.
Carter is not accused of killing Carrington.
Originally, his bond was set at $10,000, but it was increased to $250,000 after he was charged with possessing a Glock switch.
Carter posted the $10,000 bond, but prosecutors requested that he not be allowed to leave jail due to the Glock switch charge and his violent history, according to a prosecutor.
The teen appeared before Judge Raquel West this morning for a decision on raising his bond.
Judge West heard testimony from a Beaumont police officer who described Carter as "extremely dangerous."
The officer detailed multiple shootings and assaults involving Carter.
Judge West reviewed Carter's criminal history, noting it began when he was 11 years old and included numerous charges and juvenile probation violations.
Judge West then increased Carter's bond to $250,000 and ordered that if he posts bond, he must wear a monitoring device and remain under house arrest.
This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
