BEAUMONT, Texas — Fans of the holiday season can rejoice with the City of Beaumont announcing its 7th Annual Tree Lighting ceremony.

On Wednesday, December 4 at 5 p.m. the city will hold the largest Christmas tree lighting in Beaumont at the Downtown Event Centre Lake.

However, this year the city has a special plan to make the event that much more jolly.

"This year, we've taken the holiday cheer to new heights by introducing a mesmerizing drone show," said Polly Foxworth, Marketing and Promotional specialist. "These drones, synchronized in a ballet of lights, will illuminate the night sky, creating a spectacle that complements the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree".

For further entertainment, The Hype Party Band from Lake Charles will be providing live music throughout the event.

If the music and visual spectacles weren't enough, there will also be a diverse array of food trucks, and and festive movies being screened.

"These combined events offer a fantastic opportunity for residents to unite and celebrate, strengthening the community spirit," said Foxworth in the city's press release.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs to picnic during the movies. Admission to the event is free and open to the public. Festivities conclude at 7:30pm.

Free parking is available throughout downtown. Accessible parking is first come, first serve at the Lakeside Center located at 150 Magnolia along with surrounding lots at the Downtown Event Centre.
