BEAUMONT, Texas — A round of winter weather is currently developing over the Lone Star State and will affect Northwest Texas through Thursday morning. Even though some in Southeast Texas were hoping for some snow, it looks highly unlikely.
Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the Panhandle, Wichita Falls, Abilene, Midland and just northwest of Dallas.
As much as 10 inches could fall near Wichita Falls through Wednesday. Travel will become difficult.
In Southeast Texas, just a cold rain is possible over the area during the predawn hours Thursday. However, a wintry mix may develop over College Station, Austin, Brenham to near Palestine.
At this point, travel is not expected to be an issue as the precipitation will be light and the ground is warm.
