JASPER COUNTY, Texas — Southeast Texans have been no stranger to severe weather over the last couple weeks, with the last bout of storms dropping hail and even more rain Sunday afternoon.

After moving on from Jefferson county, the storms lingered around Sam Rayburn Reservoir which spelled disaster for an unlucky homeowner.

According to Jasper County ESD Four and the Lake Rayburn Volunteer Fire Department, they were sent to a home around 7 p.m. after the storm caused a branch to crash through a homeowner's roof.

The homeowner told 12News that their neighbor's pine tree snapped during the storm and fell on the house, its branch came careening through the roof with rain and water pouring in after it.

Luckily no one was injured during the event, however first responders are still working to get the tree off of the roof while battling yet another round of rain.
