'Ring of Fire' expected to bring storms toward Southeast Texas from the north

Early next week, Futurecast shows a surge of moisture rotating around the high and then right into Southeast Texas Sunday.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Upper level high pressure over the Four Corners region will have a direct effect on Texas and Southeast Texas as it directs disturbances and copious amounts of moisture.

Normally, our weather in Southeast Texas comes off the gulf.

However, the flow will direct storms our way from the north the next several days. These disturbances rotate clockwise, creating a so-called 'Ring of Fire,' around the high.  Any "wobble" east or west could change the weather forecast significantly.

Early next week, Futurecast shows a surge of moisture rotating around the high and then right into Southeast Texas Sunday.

This may mean higher rain chances and what does fall could be locally heavy. This pattern will likely persist through the middle of next week.

The high is then expected to weaken and move into our area late next week, cutting rain chances.
