ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — One family in Southeast Texas is trying to piece their life back together after Hurricane Laura damaged their home.
Michael Odell lives in Orange. He says his home was ruined by the powerful category 4 storm that moved through Thursday morning.
"It's devastating, man. My wife, she broke down crying. She couldn't take it, so we just don't what to do," Odell said. "We need somewhere to stay."
There's a giant hole in the home's roof, shingles are missing and debris is scattered everywhere.
"We got mold growing in the house, we lost all our food and everything. You know, we just need so much help. I don't know how many thousand of dollars worth of damage is done. So we don't have anywhere to stay," Odell said.
Orange County was among the hardest hit areas in Southeast Texas.

Many are without power. In Odell's case, he doesn't believe the power will make a difference due to the current state of his house.
"It's terrible. It's just going to get worse day by day as hot as it is. The hotter it gets the worse the mold is," Odell said.
He says he hasn't had success in getting help.
"It's nothing we can do, we pretty much just go with the flow, just keep continuing asking for help. You know, it's landing on deaf ears so I'm just hoping we get help, man," Odell said.
