SABINE PASS, Texas — Hours before Hurricane Delta makes landfall, folks in Sabine Pass are packing up and heading out.
Others say they know the drill and have decided to embrace Mother Nature.
Brian Williams lives in Groves and said there are storms that make him decided to evacuate, but sometimes he chooses to stay.
"Every tropical storm, hurricane sometimes I leave, sometimes I don't," Williams said.
During hurricane season, most folks view the water as a threat, but Williams said Sabine Pass is his peace.
"It's relaxing, it keeps you calm, you can come out here and sit on the water and talk to God while you're fishing," Williams said.
The fishing hub is in jeopardy of being submerged as Hurricane Delta could pack a 2 to 4 foot storm surge.

Port Arthur Mayor Thurman Bartie issued a voluntary evacuation order for Sabine Pass and Pleasure Island.
"I'm almost like Tamela Mann when she said she told those folks she was all churched out, I'm hurricaned out," Bartie said.
With those areas being among the most low-lying, Bartie said he would rather be cautious than not give any guidance to locals.
"If anyone has to be angry I would rather for you just to be angry at me because I've asked you to do it, and you are alive than to be angry at me, because I didn't ask you to do it and now you're deceased," Bartie said.
Williams said Bartie's words aren't just a warning. During Laura, he ended up stuck on Hwy. 87 while fishing at Sabine Pass.
"The water was coming over the road and it gets pretty dangerous out here so in Sabine Pass, they call for evacuation, get out because you will drown in there," Williams said.
Mayor Bartie said emergency personnel will be staged in Please Island and Sabine Pass to respond as Delta moves into the area.
