The Port Arthur Independent School District will soon vote on several measures to help bring the district back to normal after getting hit with storm damage.
"Our kids want their school back, they are ready to come back to their school home," says Latoya Neal, upset mother of 2 displaced students.

Pre-K through 2nd Grade students will attend Washington Elementary and 3rd Grade through 5th Grade students will attend Dowling Elementary.
"I'm sure I'm not the only parent that's frustrated right now," she says.
The administration building is also closed, several feet of water made its way inside the building.
"He's missed about 2 months of school and it's already tough that he's fighting cancer," says Lillian Graham.
She's seeking answers about homeschooling at the closed administration building.
School board members will be voting on efforts to speed up the recovery process.
On the agenda, the district will be seeking measures to accept bids for repairs at Lucian Adams Elementary, the Administration Building, and the Memorial High School ten-plex.

— Juan Rodríguez (@_JuanRodriguez_) October 25, 2017The school board is also considering approval of an 80 thousand dollar contract for district-wide roof inspections as well as seeking approval to amend the district calendar for missed school time.
"It's very hard and until this day, we don't even know when the school will be ready," Neal says.
These parents are hoping that the discussion will speed things up in the recovery process.
Administrators tell us that there is no specific date to when the Administration building and Lucian Adams Elementary will be open.
"I can't get nothing from the school, administration or nothing, that makes me really angry," Graham explains.
