BEAUMONT, Texas — Hurricane season is here, and there’s a new system that is being tracked in the Atlantic along the Georgia and Florida coastline.
Invest 90 L, east of Florida’s Atlantic Coast, has a 60% chance of becoming depression or named storm in 48 hours to five days, according to a Saturday morning update from the National Hurricane Center.
Currently, pressures are dropping however, shower and thunderstorm activity remains unorganized. This is due to wind shear.
Due to the disorganization, modeling is split on where this will eventually go. The European Ensemble Model is split on taking this west into the Gulf of Mexico or east into the Atlantic.
However, the GFS Ensemble Model takes this west, across Florida into the Gulf late Sunday and Monday.
