ANAHUAC, Texas — Two people have died in two separate wrecks about six miles apart along Interstate 10 in Chambers County Thursday morning shutting down the highway for several hours.
Shortly before 5 a.m. a wreck along westbound Interstate 10 on the Trinity River Bridge claimed the life of one person, according to Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Richard Standifer.
About three hours later, just before 8 a.m., another wreck occurred along Interstate 10, this one at mile marker 809 about a mile west of the FM563 exit. One person also died in the second wreck.
Troopers are continuing to investigate both wrecks and the names of those killed will not be released until their immediate families have been notified.
Traffic is moving again over the Trinity River Bridge but there is some traffic still backed up near the FM563 exit.
This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
