BEAUMONT, Texas — A man and a woman were killed Sunday night after they were struck by an 18-wheeler along Interstate 10 just west of Beaumont.
Deandre Wall, 25 of Paige, Tx and Brandy Epps, 25, of Henderson, Tx, were killed near the 843 mile marker of Interstate 10 just west of Smith Road according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The initial investigation by DPS troopers shows that at about 9:40 p.m. an 18-wheeler, driven by a 48-year-old Bryan man, was headed east along the interstate when it struck the two people after they stepped into the road the release said.
The driver of the truck was not injured but the victims were pronounced dead at the scene by a Jefferson County justice of the peace.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the incident and no other information was released.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash on Interstate Highway 10, near the 843-mile marker, that occurred Sunday, November 13, 2022.
The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 9:40 p.m., a 2007 Kenworth truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling east and struck two pedestrians that entered the roadway.
The driver of the Kenworth, identified as 48-year-old Bryan man, was not injured.
The pedestrians, identified as 25-year-old Deandre Wall of Paige and 25-year-old Brandy Epps of Henderson, were pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.
This is an ongoing investigation and there is no additional information available at this time.
