EVADALE, Texas — A log truck driver was trapped after an accident near Hwy. 62 and FM 2246 Thursday afternoon.
The accident happened as the driver was headed eastbound on 2246, east of Evadale around 1 p.m. According to the Department of Public Safety, 52-year-old Thomas Wallace of Broaddus was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
First responders say the driver was alert when he was rescued from the vehicle. Troopers say Wallace tried to make a right turn onto Texas 62 at an 'unsafe speed,' causing the truck to roll over.

At approximately 1:00p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on FM 2246 in Jasper County.
The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates that a 2002 Western Star truck tractor hauling timber was traveling eastbound on FM 2246 and attempted to make a right turn on SH 62. The driver was traveling at an unsafe speed to negotiate the turn causing the 18-wheeler to rollover.
The driver, 52-year-old Thomas Wallace of Broaddus, Texas, was transported to Jasper Memorial hospital with minor injuries.
