Three-car crash leaves one dead in Jefferson County

DPS says that the preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda accord was speeding down the interstate traveling eastbound, before hitting a stationary Chevrolet

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a three car crash that killed a man on Interstate 10 mile marker 831 at around noon Saturday.

DPS says that the preliminary investigation revealed that a Honda accord was speeding down the interstate traveling eastbound, before hitting a stationary Chevrolet van.

This then caused the van to be pushed into the road and collide with an 18-wheeler.

DPS says that the Honda's driver, 52-year old Lilian Ho, was transported to Riceland Medical Center with "suspected incapacitating injuries."

The passenger of the Honda, 59-year-old Jesse Ramirez, was also transported to Riceland Medical Center where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Both the drivers of the Chevrolet and 18-wheeler sustained minor injuries.
