Louisiana man killed in 3 vehicle wreck early Saturday in Bridge City

The wreck, involving a van, car and a pickup truck, happened around 5:30 a.m. along the southbound lanes of Texas Highway 73.

BRIDGE CITY, Texas — Police in Bridge City are investigating after a Louisiana man was killed and several other people were injured in an early-Saturday morning wreck.

Just before 5:40 a.m. Saturday morning a Ford F150 pickup headed north along Texas Highway 73 crossed over the center median and into the southbound lanes according to a news release from the Bridge City Police Department.

The pickup struck a Ford passenger van driven by Nicki Dewayne Guy, of Kinder, Louisiana, the release said. The van was then struck by a Dodge pickup.

Guy was pronounced dead at the scene by Orange County Precinct Two Justice of the Peace Chad Jenkins and several others were taken by ambulance to a Southeast Texas hospital. We do not know what their condition is at this time.

The wreck happened north of the Rainbow  Bridge.

Troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and Orange County deputies as well as Bridge City firefighters from Orange County Emergency Services District Two also responded to the wreck.

This crash is still being investigated.
