Bicyclist killed Monday night after being struck by car, pickup along Texas 12 in Orange County

MAURICEVILLE, Texas — A bicyclist was killed Monday night along Texas Highway 12 in Orange County after he was struck by two vehicles.

Earl Lee Gregg, 62, of Orange, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was struck by a car and a pickup along Highway 12 about one mile east of Texas 62 according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Troopers investigating the incident say that at about 9:15 p.m. Monday night a 2018 Kia passenger car driven by a 24-year-old Orange woman was traveling eastbound followed by a 2020 Dodge pickup truck driven by a 55-year-old Orange man.

Gregg was riding in the middle of the roadway with no lights or reflectors and was struck from behind by both the car and the pickup.

Neither driver was injured troopers said.
