44-year-old Vidor man dies in motorcycle wreck along Interstate 10 in Orange Monday night

The man riding the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck.

ORANGE, Texas — A 44-year-old Vidor man was killed Monday night in a motorcycle wreck along Interstate 10 in Orange.

The wreck happened just after 9 p.m. along eastbound Interstate 10 near the Adams Bayou Bridge at exit 877 in Orange.

James Valdez, 44, of Vidor, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by Orange County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Hershel Stagner, Jr., according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Preliminary investigation by troopers shows that at about 9:25 p.m. Valdez was riding a 2001 Yamaha east when he struck some debris in the road causing him to hit the guardrail, according to the news release.

Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety are continuing to investigate the wreck.
