PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A student from Memorial High School was arrested and could face charges after reportedly bringing a gun to campus Monday.
After receiving an anonymous tip, administrators learned a student had a gun on campus, according to a Port Arthur Independent School District release. The student was identified during an investigation.
Port Arthur ISD police arrested the student who was later taken off the high school campus. At this time, the student's identity is not being released.
"Legal and disciplinary actions will be enforced," district officials said in a release.
Officials are assuring the community that all staff and students are safe following the incident.

Attention Memorial High School parents
An anonymous tip alerted administrators to a student in possession of a gun on campus. An investigation identified the student. The student was immediately arrested and will be removed from the campus. Legal and disciplinary actions will be enforced. All students and staff are safe. There is no need to pick up students at this time.
