COLMESNEIL, Texas — A 33-year-old Jasper man was killed and a 33-year-old Jasper woman was seriously injured in an early-Sunday morning wreck in Tyler County.
Matthew Lout, 33, of Jasper, died at the scene of a one-vehicle wreck along Recreational Road 255 in Tyler County at about 3 a.m. according to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Cynthia Lout, 33, of Jasper, who was seriously injured in the wreck, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet pickup westbound when the wreck happened about 10 miles east of Colmesneil the release said.
The truck left the road and struck several trees before stopping according to troopers.
Matthew Lout, who was a passenger in the truck, was pronounced dead at the scene by Tyler County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Ken Jobe.
Troopers are unsure why the pickup left the road and are continuing to investigate the wreck.

At approximately 3:00a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on Recreational Road 255 in Tyler County. The crash occurred approximately ten (10) miles east of Colmesneil, Texas.
The preliminary DPS crash investigation indicates that a 2012 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on Recreational Road 255. For an unknown reason, the vehicle traveled off the road and struck several trees before coming to rest.
The driver, 33-year-old Cynthia Lout of Kirbyville, was transported to Jasper Memorial hospital with serious injuries.
The passenger, 33-year-old Matthew Lout of Jasper, was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace Ken Jobe at the scene
All information is preliminary as Troopers work to determine the exact factors that contributed to this fatal crash.
