PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A Houston man is facing multiple charges after leading Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on a chase Saturday.
The incident began around 3:30 p.m. when troopers attempted to stop a black Nissan Altima on FM 365 and U.S. 69 for registration violations. The driver refused to stop and a chase began.
The driver was later identified as Luis Sinaloa, 32, of Houston, according to a Texas DPS release.
Port Arthur Police helped troopers during the chase. Eventually, Sinaloa was arrested at Stadium Road and 13th Street.
The Houston man was taken to the Jefferson County Jail and charged with felony evading, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, felony possession of a controlled substance, and driving while license invalid.
Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso told 12News the chase left at least one police unit damaged.

JEFFERSON COUNTY- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) arrested a Houston man for felony evading on Feb. 11 at Stadium and 13th St.
The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 3:30 p.m. DPS Troopers attempted to stop a black Nissan Altima on Farm to Market 365 and U.S. 69 for registration violations.
The driver identified as Luis Sinaloa, 32, from Houston, fled from Troopers in the Nissan. The driver was taken into custody a short distance away from where the traffic stop began.
The Port Arthur Police Department assisted Troopers and transported Sinaloa to the Jefferson County Jail where he was placed into custody for felony evading, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, felony possession of a controlled substance, and driving while license invalid.
There are no further details for release at this time.
