College Street has been reopened after a fatal motorcycle wreck Wednesday

The wreck happened around 4:15 p.m. at 5110 College Street.

BEAUMONT, Texas — College Street has reopened after a fatal motorcycle wreck caused it to shut down in Beaumont Wednesday evening.

College Street was completely closed from S. 23rd Street to Delmar Drive.

The wreck happened around 4:15 p.m. at 5110 College Street.

According to the preliminary investigation, the motorcycle was driving fast westbound on College Street when a vehicle driving eastbound turned from the middle turning lane across the westbound lanes.

The motorcycle hit the vehicle, was ejected and was later pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the car got minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, according to a BPD news release.

The motorcyclist has been identified as Joseph Paul Richardson, 22, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Beaumont Police have confirmed to 12News that the wreck is fatal.
