Early morning crash in Port Arthur kills one

The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene and their next of kin has been notified.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A collision between two cars on 7th Street and Woodworth Boulevard in Port Arthur, resulted in the death of one person early Saturday morning.

Port Arthur Police Department says that the crash happened at around 2 a.m. this morning.

The driver of one of the vehicles was pronounced dead at the scene and according to PAPD, their next of kin has been notified.

The other driver made it out of the the wreck with non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Port Arthur Police Department's Chief, Timothy Duriso, says that the other driver is expected to survive.

Duriso also said that the crash was so severe that the Advanced accident Investigation Team was called out to reenact the scene.
