LUMBERTON, Texas — Bre Barker, 26, was hit by a truck at the intersection of west Chance Cut Off road and highway 69 in Lumberton while riding a bicycle around 9:14 p.m. Friday.
Barker, of Lumberton, attempted to cross highway 69 when she was struck by a F-150 truck traveling south on highway 69.
Barker was transported to St. Elizabeth by Lumberton EMS.
An hour later, officers were notified that Barker died from her injuries.

The Barker family started a Facebook donation page to solicit "financial contributions for the costs associated with the final arrangements and final resting place."
Full statement from the Baker family..
We are humbly asking for help from our Facebook family and friends for financial contributions for the costs associated with the final arrangements and final resting place of our Beloved Daughter Bre Barker. We had kept a small insurance policy on our daughter thru out her life. Recently this year our daughter turned 26 years old and was kicked off of the policy. We were in the process of acquiring a new life insurance policy for her, but did not act quickly enough. We have no insurance on our daughter. We are now looking at not what We may want but rather what We can afford for her proper burial and resting place. If You are blessed and can afford it. Any offering You may give will be a blessing to our family and to the family of God. May God Bless You as You bless others! The Lord Jesus will provide thru his faithful servants. THANK YOU AND MAY GOD BLESS YOU!
