TYLER COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a Monday morning crash in Tyler County that left three people, including a 4-month-old boy, dead.
It happened on Highway 92 near County Road 4890, shortly before 7 a.m. A preliminary investigation suggests that 2009 Honda car was travelling north. The driver of the Honda lost control and ended up in the southbound lanes where a 2012 Chevrolet SUV struck it, according to a DPS release.
The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to CHRISTUS ST. Elizabeth to be treated for their injuries.
DPS has identified the driver and two passengers of the Honda who were pronounced dead at the scene as Jacob Hutson, of Lumberton, 18-year-old Christina Gray, of Silsbee, and 4-month-old River Hutson.

TYLER COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is investigating a fatal crash on Farm-to-Market Road 92, approximately two-tenths of a mile south of County Road 4890, that occurred today, Dec. 20, 2021.
The preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 6:50 a.m., a 2012 Chevrolet SUV was traveling south while a 2009 Honda passenger car was traveling north. It’s reported that the passenger car traveled off the roadway to the right and then back to the left, causing it to travel into a side skid and into the southbound lane, where the SUV struck it.
The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
The driver and two passengers of the Honda were pronounced deceased on the scene by a Tyler County Justice of the Peace.
The driver is identified as Jacob Hutson of Lumberton. The passengers are identified as 18-year-old Christina Gray of Silsbee and 4-month-old River Hutson.
There is no additional information available for release at this time.
