BEAUMONT, Texas — An 18-wheeler crash along IH10, just outside of Beaumont, has proven to be quite the headache for both motorists and those working to clear it.
According to Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the truck veered off the road and crashed into a ditch.
Initial efforts made to pull the 18-wheeler out of the ditch proved unsuccessful, as the truck had lodged itself deeply into the mud.
Jefferson County Sherriff's Office made a post on Facebook at around noon saying "Due to some unforeseen issues, additional wreckers have been called in."
The post went on to say to expect the highway to be shut down intermittently for the next "20 to 30 minutes".
Four hours after said post, crews were finally able to make some progress. According to JCSO Captain Crystal Holmes, the truck has been successfully pulled from the ditch and back onto the road.
However, Holmes said to expect further delays for the next 45 minutes as they work to clear the scene and get the truck transported.
No injuries have been reported.
This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
