BEAUMONT, Texas — Ready, set, grab the umbrella!

As the Friday night lights come on across the 409, you could be dodging rain drops and even thunderstorms.

12News Chief Meteorologist Patrick Vaughn says that kickoff will remain relatively dry. But by halftime, we could see storms in the Triangle.

"Lightning delays are quite possible as the storms move in around 8 p.m. and could affect several high school games in Southeast Texas," Vaughn said.

Vaughn is calling for thunderstorms to develop along the I-10 corridor. There is a chance for rain and storms through midnight.

West Brook is taking on Beaumont United in the 409Sports Blitz Game of the Week. That game pits two of the area's four undefeated teams against each other in what promises to be a high-caliber showdown.

The game is part of the second annual BISD Alumni Bowl. Tailgating activities for the game started at 3 p.m.

Vaughn says north of I-10 and closer to the lakes-area will have lesser rain chances Friday night.
