JASPER, Texas — Three Southeast Texas fishing guides will be appearing before a Jasper County judge next week on “over bag limit” and undersize fish charges.
Fishing guides Regina Myers, 67, of Brookeland, William Rogers, 70, of Jasper and Ronald Wallace, 39, of Brookeland, will appear before Jasper County Precinct 5 Justice of the Peace Brett Holloway on Monday May 20, 2019 according to the JP’s office.
The three professional guides were charged along with a group of 12 out-of-state fishermen on multiple charges of being over their daily limit by 208 fish following an investigation by game wardens on May 7.
The group was over their limit of Crappie on Sam Rayburn Reservoir according to a tweet from the Texas game wardens.
Forty of the 208 over limit fish were undersize according to the tweet.
The daily limit for "white and black crappie, their hybrids and subspecies" in any combination is 25 and the minimum length is 10 inches according to the Texas Parks and Wildlife website.
