WASHINGTON — American Olympics fans who weren't able to travel to Paris for the 2024 Games have a much easier trip ahead for 2028 when the festivities are taking place in Los Angeles.
While the anticipation may have reached an all-time high after the 2024 Olympics, you can't purchase tickets for L.A. just quite yet.
In fact, it could be several more years before tickets are made available. They didn't go on sale for the 2024 Games until early 2023.
So if that timeframe holds, tickets may be on sale for the 2028 Summer Olympics sometime in the first quarter of 2027.
How to get ticket info updates for 2028 Olympics
In the meantime, you can keep checking the official website for the 2028 Olympics, LA28.org, for the latest updates. Those who sign up for more info on the Olympics hospitality packages will be the first to know about hotels and event tickets, according to 2028 organizers.
If you're thinking about working for the Olympics during the Los Angeles Games, there are a few openings currently available. The website's careers page shows 10 senior management roles that will need to be filled ahead of the L.A. Games, as well as a generic application to join the team.
According to the L.A. Times, the 2024 Summer Games had more than 300,000 applications for 45,000 volunteer spots. Workers were reportedly selected from 155 countries.
When are the 2028 Olympics?
The 2028 Olympics Opening Ceremony is scheduled for July 14, 2028. The Paralympics will begin a month later, on Aug. 15.
The Games are expected to bring hundreds of thousands of people from around the world to the already-crowded Los Angeles area. Transportation in the city is already notoriously difficult, and Olympic organizers are working to develop new ways to get around during the Games — including potentially using flying taxis and only allowed public transit to reach the venues.
