BEAUMONT, Texas —
Local basketball star Alexis Morris is making waves once again in the world of professional hoops after signing with the Harlem Globetrotters, according to a tweet from their social media team.
Morris rose through the ranks of high school basketball while dominating at Legacy Christian Academy, averaging nearly 30 points per game as a senior. This earned her a scholarship to play at Baylor University under storied head coach Kim Mulkey.
After parting ways with Baylor, Morris transferred to Rutgers and then Texas A&M before reuniting with Mulkey at LSU her senior year. There she played a key role in the Tigers National Championship run, serving as a spark plug for the team and dropping 21 points in their win against Iowa.
The national champion then returned home to Beaumont where she accepted the key to the city and was drafted in the second round of the WNBA draft by the Connecticut Sun shortly after.
According to Globetrotters, Morris is scheduled to suit up in the iconic uniform for the first time Friday, February 9, 2024, at the MassMutual center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
