FRISCO, Texas — For years, Ford and Texas Ford Dealers have celebrated Texas High School Football talent and this year Caleb Goodie and Dre'lon Miller were representing southeast Texas at the Built Ford Tough Player of the Year Banquet.
Miller was originally nominated as 4A player of the week after his performance against West Orange-Stark. He had nine catches for 204 yards and 3 touchdowns and 6 carries for 131 yards and 2 scores, plus a sack on defense against the Mustangs. Silsbee beat West Orange-Stark 48-27 that night.
Miller has offers from schools like Georgia, TCU, Texas, and Texas A&M.
"It means a lot to know that all the hard work I put in with my teammates is finally gotten noticed and I'm glad I was able to win this award tonight," Miller said.
Miller is also a 4A all-state basketball player.
