ARLINGTON, Texas — Port Neches-Groves students, fans and the community will celebrate the school's state championship victory with a parade and pep rally Monday evening.
For the first time since 1975 the Texas State football championship is coming home to Port Neches-Groves High School.
The Indians faced off in a rematch of last year's state championship game when they took on the South Oak Cliff Golden Bears. Last year PNG came up short, losing 34-24.
This year they found redemption in Saturday's 20-17 win at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. at the public library on Merriman and will end in the stadium where the pep rally will follow at 7 p.m.
The route for the parade will follow the usual homecoming parade route, from the Effie & Wilton Hebert Public Library at 2025 Merriman and head north toward the high school.
