Lumberton celebrates 25th anniversary of first basketball playoff team

Before Lumberton's game against West Orange-Stark, the school celebrated the 1997-98 Lady Raider basketball team.

LUMBERTON, Texas — Before the Lumberton and West Orange-Stark game, the Raiders celebrated the 25th anniversary of the first ever basketball playoff team in school history, the 1997-98 Lady Raiders.

The Lady Raiders were coached by Bob Killam when they beat Port Arthur Lincoln 67-28 to advance to playoffs for the first time in school history. 

That season the Lady Raiders has a 20-12 overall record and a 10-4 district record.

Brandi Davis was the team's All-State player and three Lady Raiders went on to play college basketball.

The school got to celebrate the "history makers" and their boys basketball team after they beat the Mustangs, 73-72
