BEAUMONT, Texas — Four area girls basketball teams started the week on the road to State with Hardin-Jefferson, Kountze, Evadale and Brookeland all competing in the Regional Quarterfinals.
Monday night Kountze punched their ticked to the 3A Region III Tournament with a thrilling 54-50 win over Huntington in Livingston. The Lionettes will now face the winner of Rice and Mexia, 7:30 pm Friday night at Waco Midway High School.
On Tuesday Hardin-Jefferson had a furious rally to get past Palestine 58-57 in Huntsville. The Lady Hawks move on to face #3 Waco La Vegea in the 4A Region III Semifinals, 6:00 pm Friday at Bryan High School.
Unfortunately Evadale and Brookeland came up short Tuesday night. Congratulations to the Lady Rebels and Laldy Cats on their fantastic seasons.
