BEAUMONT, Texas — Week seven of the 2024 high school football season in Southeast Texas has Silsbee High School visiting Hamshire-Fannett High School.
The matchup, that has been brewing all season, is the 409Sports game of the week for week seven.
The 4 - 1 Silsbee Tigers will battle the 4 - 1 Hamshire-Fannet Longhorns in what will be the first district game for both teams.
The Tigers won their first four games of the season with a couple impressive road wins at LC-M and at Nederland.
Silsbee's first loss of the year was a 42 - 10 game against the Hitchock Bulldogs. Hamshire-Fannett also played and lost against them.
The Longhorns fell to the Bulldogs 71 -48 in a week two shoot out in Hitchcock.
But since that matchup the Longhorns have won their last three games in a row, and have been "dominating" on the offensive side of the football, averaging 45 points a game.
The longhorns were picked to win the district by Dave Campbell's Texas Football and if they are going to make that happen then they need to start by getting past the Silsbee Tigers
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. at Longhorn stadium on Friday night.
