BEAUMONT, Texas — Interim head softball coach for Lamar State College Port Arthur, Brittany Baker, has had the "interim" part removed and is now the Head Softball Coach for the Seahawks.
Baker has been with LSCPA since 2017 as an assistant to longtime Seahawks Head Coach Vance Edwards who retired before the 2023-24 season.
"There's a freedom now to build the team in my vision. Removing the 'interim' part of the title is very exciting. There's a new mindset now, from the coaching staff to the players. This is the start of something we know can be really great," Baker said in a statement.
The Seahawks finished the season 16 and 40 on the year and 8 and 16 in conference play. They will look to build on the momentum of new leadership in the new season.
Congratulations to Coach Baker and good luck next season!
