ORANGE, Texas — Two Houston men have been arrested in after an armed pawn shop robbery in Orange and a chase.
Jordan Broussard and Elijah Traylor, both from Houston, were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest after police were called to the 1100 block of 16th Street on Saturday, June 15.
It happened around 10:40 a.m. according to a news release from Orange Police Lt. Robert Estrello.
Witnesses told officers that two men entered the store, one of them carrying a firearm, and took several pieces of jewelry.
The men fled on foot as officers approached the store. Officer Kirkpatrick saw a car leaving at high speed and pursued the car, Estrello said.
Soon after, the men stopped the car and ran away on foot.
Officer Kirkpatrick found the passenger and Officer Williams found the driver hiding in a wooded area nearby, Estrello said. The stolen jewelry, which totaled about $50,000, was still in the vehicle.
