Silsbee man drowns in Lake Sam Rayburn

Relatives have started posting remembrances of Galloway on social media. They describe him as a man full of laughter, who loved to fish and hunt.

SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY, Texas — Friends and family are remembering a Silsbee man who drowned on Lake Sam Rayburn Thursday afternoon. 

Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden Doug Williams told 12News it happened during a storm April 18. 

Drew Galloway, 58, was on the south side of the lake with his 24-year-old stepson. Their boat capsized and started taking on water, Williams said. 

Investigators said they both stayed on the boat as long as they could. The stepson survived.
