ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — Orange County Office of Emergency Management is offering sandbags to the community.

Officials said they are currently monitoring the weather situation, Orange County Emergency Management spokesperson Lori Ardoin said in a news release.

"The amount of rainfall that was predicted to be spread over a three day period fell overnight with 6 to 8 inches severely saturating the soil," Ardoin said.

Officials said they are expecting another two to three inches with some areas getting up to more inches of rain through Saturday.

Multiple roads are closed throughout the county, and drivers should watch out for barricades, officials said.

Residents can bag sand for their homes, but bring your own shovel.

Ardoin said B. A. Steinhagen Lake is currently releasing at 22,500 cubic feet per second and Toledo Bend Dam is currently releasing at 35,094 cubic feet per second as of 1:40 p.m. Friday, May 10.

Both the Neches and Sabine Rivers are moderately flooded. Officials said those who live on those river basins should take precautions.
