Beaumont woman files to run for Jefferson County Precinct 1 Commissioner as write-in candidate

BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont woman has filed to run for Precinct One Commissioner as a write-in candidate in the November election.

Addie Allen, 72, of Beaumont, filed a declaration, on August 19, 2024, to run for Jefferson County Precinct One Commissioner as a write-in candidate.

The deadline in Texas to file a declaration of write-in candidacy in the general election for state and county officers is August 19.

Allen will face Brandon Willis, who is running as a Republican, in the November election.

Willis was nominated by the Jefferson County Republican Party from among six candidates to take the place of incumbent Precinct One Commissioner Vernon Pierce. 

Pierce died after a battle with cancer on April 14, 2024, nearly six weeks after defeating Willis in the Republican primary election.
