Here's what's on the ballot in Orange County

Early voting for the general election is open from Oct. 21 to Nov. 1, while Election Day is Nov. 5.

ORANGE, Texas — In Texas, polling in a closely-watched race for U.S. Senate shows Sen. Ted Cruz (R) and Congressman Colin Allred (D) are neck and neck. This year, the country will decide if Vice President Kamala Harris will be getting a promotion to the top job or if former President Donald Trump will return to the Resolute Desk.

In Orange County, voters will be voting for U.S. House District 14 as well as two Emergency Services District, a school board race and a school district proposition.

Orange County: Voting locations

Orange County voters will be deciding on a $98.4 million school bond to fund campus improvements in the Vidor school district, as well as voting in two emergency service district elections and a school board race.

Vidor ISD says it's $98.4 million Proposition A will pay for major upgrades at Pine Forest and two other elementary campuses.

Richard Lasseigne Jr., Dustin Loga and Jude Graffagnino are all vying for one seat on the Orangefield school board.

Orange County Emergency Services Districts One and Three are each holding elections for two commissioners.

Voters will also have a chance to weigh in on several other national, state and local races on the ballot this year.

Contested local races in Orange County:

  • Vidor ISD Prop A
    • The issuance of $98,400,000 school building bonds by the Vidor Independent School District for the design, construction, acquisition, renovation, expansion, improvement and equipment of school buildings in the district, including (1) classroom additions, expansion, renovations and related building improvements and equipment to and for each of Pine Forest Elementary School, Vidor Elementary School, Oak Forest Elementary School and Vidor Middle School in conjunction with closing the existing Vidor Junior High School campus and making the existing Vidor Junior High School campus Vidor Middle School campus into one school campus for grades 6, 7 and 8 and (2) classroom additions, renovations and related building improvements and equipment to Vidor High School, and the levying of at ax sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds and the costs of any related credit agreements. This is a property tax increase.
